Overgrowth Across From Jack N the Box Finally
Resolved...
The area on the inside of the fence along Ransom Place is not common grounds for
Ransom Park HOA.  The property - Villas at Ransom Park - belongs to General Construction,
which has filed for bankruptcy.  RPHOA has been in contact with Metro Nashville Government
on several occasions regarding the overgrown area in Villas at Ransom Park.  It looks like
strength comes in numbers and through many calling, Metro has finally taken care of this
issue.  However, if you continue to have any issues with that area, please
contact Bill Penn,
of Metro Codes, regarding this property.  You can also contact Duane Dominy, our local city
councilman.  The more people we have contacting these folks, the sooner they will act.  Their
contact info is below:

See the story in The Tennessean-2/21/10
"Nashville-Area Subdivisions Left Unfinished by Developers". Our HOA President spoke to the
reporter for this story on Friday. Although our subdivision is not perfect. Because of the hard
work of the Board we were not included in this story. The Board worked with General
Construction before they filed bankruptcy, sent countless email to the city, attended city
meetings, talk with the city's legal department on many occasion and other city officials to
make sure we were not left unfinished. The Board also stays diligent in watching violations.
Thank you to all who have sent notes to the Board and who appreciate their hard work. The
word is that many subdivisions in this area have been left as ghost towns, are dumping
grounds, and/or have a long list of things to be finished.  That is not the case in Ransom
Park. Things could be better. However, things could be a lot worse. It's not an easy job.
However the HOA volunteers their time and is dedicated to keeping Ransom Park a safe and
attractive place to live!

Graffiti in Ransom Park
In the past we have been tagged with Graffiti.  The Board has sent these pictures to the Gang
Unit at the South Precinct.  From what we understand the Gang Unit will forward this
information to Public Works and they will remove it.  Some of our concerned neighbors have
volunteered to remove the graffiti themselves and the Board has approved that as well.  We
will continue to stay on top of this issue and do what we can regarding this matter.

Pools in Ransom Park
Please see the bylaws on this website regarding pools.  All homeowners are required to
submit their plans before erecting a pool.  In addition they are to have a child safety fence
around the pool.  In general the Board requires most outside construction to be done by
professionals.  If a homeowner puts up a pool without doing these things they are in violation
of our bylaws and will be sighted a violation letter.

Excitement on Deercreek Trail N.
No you are not seeing things. We actually had horses come visit us this month! (December
2009) Even they know Ransom Park is a great place to live. Although beautiful horses, we
had to get them back to their owners.

How to dispose of unwanted medications...
Did you know that there is a proper way to dispose of out of date and unwanted
medications? Remove the unused medication from its original container and place it in
a sealable plastic bag such as a baggie or sandwich bag, mix with an undesirable
substance such as used coffee grounds, kitty litter, or other pet waste and place the bag
in your normal household trash.  Dispose of the trash as you would other household
garbage. This will insure the medication is disposed of safely in an environmentally
engineered and protective landfill. It is important that you do NOT flush unused
medications down a toilet or  sink! For more information on waste disposal issues,
contact Metro Public Works at 862-8750.
